About Jaime

Hi! My name is Jaime, I am 25 years old. My home country is Spain, which means my native language is not english, sorry if you found any spelling mistakes. I have been in the aquarium hobby for 8 years now.

In 2015 I got my first ever 14 gallon (54 L) fish tank for Christmas. I did not know what was I doing back then. My first ever fish was a basic fancy goldfish. Now I know that this kind of fish requires a lot more space and water to thrive, back then I lacked the knowledge I needed to keep that goldfish. For this reason, I created The Aquarium Keeper. I want to write about different aquarium topics, break myths, create beautiful aquascapes and do the most important thing - educate people!

Follow These Steps To Succeed In Fishkeeping

Step 1: Choose A Beginner Fish

Firstly, if you’re new to fishkeeping, you should consider what kind of fish you would like to keep. Freshwater fish are more beginner-friendly than saltwater fish, also less expensive and easier to keep.

Step 2: Do Your Homework And Continue to Learn

Secondly, do your research about the fish that you chose. Every aquatic animal is unique and requires different water parameters, tank size, food, tank mates, and other conditions.

The Aquarium Keeper is updated regulary, so feel free to use our content for your research. We value every reader and try to produce the best and most accurate content out there!
